We meet the world

Six members of the teaching team attended the Apple Distinguished School Summit this week. Apple Distinguished Schools from across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines and Malaysia were invited to the two day summit to share their school stories, discuss ideas and opportunities to help continue to transform learning experiences and to keep questioning the way we teach and learn.

At the afternoon expo we showcased how we are developing teacher capacity, fostering flexible learning spaces, implementing our P-6 sTEAm program and facilitating student workflow using iTunes U and Showbie.

Although we had some amazing stories and examples to share, the spotlight was stolen by our Cyber Safety Agents who represented their role and the school in true leadership style, answering questions and initiating conversations with other Apple Distinguished School delegates.

Over the two days some powerful messages were delivered from the keynote speakers and the workshops that followed explored ways to empower leaners to create and communicate their ideas and learning. Although we learned, we discovered and we were inspired, the biggest inspiration was to see how far we have come and what we are working towards to provide our students with the best opportunities in learning. Congratulations to everyone for being part of the Coomera Rivers journey.
