It was another early Saturday morning at Currumbin with our 20 strong Kokoda squad who were ready for some serious endurance and strength training. We were once again at the Currumbin Border Trail where the hills proved to be challenging, both up and down, and the mud added a touch of fun. One of the aims of this training session was for our staff team leaders to determine the composition of our 4 teams. Each team consists of one staff team leader, four students and one reserve.
This 2 hour training session saw our students really pushing themselves with no real rest stops. We covered just over 10km (some students covered a little more than that) in about one hour and 45 minutes. This is setting our teams up well for the actual 15km Kokoda challenge in June.
The next training session will see our students flaunting their new team shirts and our official Coomera Rivers' team name will be revealed.... Stay tuned!
