Coomera Rivers State School provides many opportunities for students to participate and excel at chosen sports. We believe that sport is for everyone and therefore we strongly encourage participation over competition.
The Coomera Rivers State School Elite Sports Program provides additional support and development opportunities to aspiring young male and female sports athletes attending Coomera Rivers State School.
The aim of the Coomera Rivers State School Elite Sports Program is for students to commit to Service – Action – Respect, demonstrated in all aspects of school life including their involvement in their chosen sport:
Many students will represent our school in a variety of academic, sporting and cultural endeavours. These students will deservedly receive our praise, our support and accolades for outstanding effort. At the same time, the highest standards of behaviour, effort and dress will be expected of them as young ambassadors for our school.
Our running club operates every Tuesday and Thursday before school 7.45-8.15am and all students are encouraged to participate.
We hold special competitions during lunchtimes each term. Sometimes we have a competition to find the cricket champions, sometimes it is handball. We often have opportunities for students to play staff in Touch Football, Netball or Oz Tag.

We hold three house carnivals each year - cross-country, athletics and swimming. The focus is on fun and participation and we want to have everyone involved. Separate selection trials are conducted to select students for the school teams. Our four school houses are:
